Research & Process Of Calculation
Before we look into the brand-wise average price of watches, let me first tell you how I have calculated the average cost of a watch from a particular watch brand.
Step 1: I have taken into account the prices of at least 40 watches from one particular brand. For some brands, depending on the number of watches the brand offers, I have even taken prices of more than 150 watches.
Step 2: Then I calculated the average price of all these watches by simply adding up the prices of all the watches and then dividing it by the number of watches.
Step 3: I have also calculated the average price by excluding the outliers. By outliers, I mean the watches that had very low or high prices as compared to other watches from the same brand. These were very few in numbers and when included were skewing the average by a huge margin.

Let us first look at the average price of watches from luxury brands like Rolex, Patek Phillipe, Omega, etc.
Rolex Watches
When it comes to luxury watch brands, then the name Rolex comes out on top. So let us first look at the average price of Rolex watches.
The average cost of Rolex watches with outliers: $16,179
The average price of Rolex watches without outliers: $15,319
So overall if you want to buy a Rolex watch then the average price that you will have to shell out will be approx. $15,319.
Breitling Watches
The average cost of Breitling watches with outliers: $16,179
The average price of Breitling watches without outliers: $15,319

Cartier Watches

Citizen has the widest range among all these watch brands, and to calculate its watch’s average price I had to include around 170 watches.
Average Cost Of A Smartwatch
Smartwatches are the talk of the town nowadays, and I am sure you must be thinking of owning one. So let us look at the average price of smartwatches so that you can have a fair idea of how much money will you have to spend.
The average price of smartwatches with outliers: $344
The average price of smartwatches without outliers: $231
So the average cost that you will have to bear to buy a smartwatch is approx. $231.
Like watches, I have considered more than 75 smartwatches from the brands like Garmin, Fossil, Fitbit, Samsung, Apple, Huawei, Amazfit, etc. Some of these watches (outliers) like tactical smartwatches were really costly and cost up to $1,500. So I have excluded these smartwatches to calculate the average again so that you can have a close idea of the average price.
Will You Have To Pay Exactly The Average?
Obviously not, the average price is just an estimation of the cost of watches from a particular brand. There will be watches from the same brand that will cost significantly less than the average and there will be watches that will cost significantly more than the average.
The price that you will have to pay will depend on your choice and budget.
