Yes, you can charge your Whoop band while wearing it, irrespective of whether you have Whoop 4.0 or 3.0. That is the beauty of Whoop bands.
If you have Whoop 4.0 then you can even charge it while taking a shower. It means that you can take the Whoop battery pack 4.0 to the shower because the battery pack of Whoop 4.0 is water resistant.
However, if you have Whoop 3.0 then you should not wear its battery pack to the shower as it is not water resistant.
How Do I Know Whoop Is Charging?
If you have Whoop 4.0 then look for the small LED indication on the battery pack, it will tell you whether your Whoop band is getting charged or not. This light will be off by default, to see it you will have to double tap on the battery pack.

After double tapping on the battery pack if the light is:
- Solid Green (Not Blinking): It means that your Whoop band is charging and currently its charge is between 75% to 100%.
- Blinking Green: It means that your band is charging and its battery percentage is between 25% and 74%.
- Solid Red: It means that your band is getting charged but its battery level is in the range of 5% to 25%.
- Blinking Red: It means that your band is charging but its battery percentage is less than 5%.
If you do not see any light on the Whoop battery pack then it means that your battery pack is out of charge itself.

You can check the battery level of your Whoop 4.0 battery pack by double tapping on it while it is not connected to your Whoop band. If you see:
- Solid Green Light: It means that the battery percentage of the battery pack is between 90% to 100%.
- Red Light: It means that your battery pack charge is less than or equal to 90%.
I think the red light kind of denotes the vague battery life because for me even 90% battery is good enough to charge my Whoop band. However, there is no way of knowing whether it is 90% charged or 1%. This becomes really irritating when you have to leave your home urgently and you do not know how much your battery pack will last.
How To Update Whoop 4.0 Battery Pack?
If you do not know this already then let me tell you, like your Whoop 4.0 band, your Whoop 4.0 battery pack has software too that needs updating. To increase the efficiency of the battery pack and enhance its performance, Whoop rolls out updates that you need to install in the battery pack.
To update your Whoop 4.0 battery pack, you need the following things:
- The USB-C type cable that you must have received with your Whoop band
- Obviously, you have to have the Whoop battery pack that needs updating
- Your laptop/computer
Once you have all three, follow the below steps:
Step 1: Go to support.whoop.com.
Step 2: Download the Battery Pack Updater. Once downloaded, install it on your PC.
Step 3: Once the updater is installed, open it.
Step 4: Connect your Whoop battery pack to your computer using the USB-C type cable.
