Does Fitbit Work With Peloton?
Fitbit and Peloton are the best companions that can help you greatly in your fitness journey. One helps you get fit while the other tracks how fitter you are getting. And if you could combine them together then you can take your fitness game to a whole another level. But the question that arises is: Does Peloton work with Fitbit?
Yes, Fitbit smartwatches and fitness trackers are compatible with Peloton. You can sync your Peloton and Fitbit account, thereafter your Peloton data will get shared with your Fitbit account automatically.
How To Connect Fitbit With Peloton?
Step 1: To connect your Peloton account with Fitbit, you first have to complete a session on the Peloton bike.
Step 2: Once your session is complete, tap on the Share button.
Step 3: Select Fitbit out of the different options.
Step 4: Log in to your Fitbit account using your credentials.
Step 5: Your Peloton data will now get synced to your Fitbit account.
This is just a one-time process, you do not have to do it every time you complete your Peloton class. Once your Fitbit and Peloton accounts are connected, all the Peloton sessions that you will do after that will also get synced to your Fitbit.
The thing that you need to note here is that, in your Fitbit, the Peloton sessions will be recorded as exercises. And you will be able to see the following data:
- Duration of your session
- Distance covered
- Calories burned
Is Fitbit Heart Rate Compatible With Peloton?
According to Peloton, Fitbit’s heart rate is not compatible with Peloton.
Fitbit fitness trackers and smartwatches can track your heart rate while riding the Peloton bike but cannot share the heart rate data to your Peloton screen. Peloton is only compatible with smartwatches that use ANT+ technology to communicate with other devices. And Fitbit watches do not support ANT+ communication. As a result, Fitbit’s heart rate is not compatible with Peloton bikes or treadmills.
What Fitbits Work With Peloton?
Now let us look at the Fitbit smartwatches and fitness trackers that work with Peloton. As discussed, you can connect your Fitbit and Peloton accounts. Therefore you can use all Fitbit smartwatches and fitness trackers with your Peloton bike or treadmill.
Having said that, below are my recommendations, you can choose any one of them.
1) Fitbit Sense
Fitbit Sense is Fitbit’s flagship smartwatch that comes loaded with features. It can track more than 20 workout modes and can also recognize a few exercises automatically.
When I was using Sense, it showed me a daily readiness score, as a result, I could know if it is time to hit the gym or not. This smartwatch also comes with inbuilt GPS, therefore I was able to track my running and cycling sessions accurately.
It also has a lot of health tracking features that include:
- 24/7 heart rate monitor with low and high rate notifications
- SpO2 monitor
- ECG tracking
- Sleep monitoring with smart wake feature
- Menstrual health tracking
- Stress measurement
- Skin temperature sensor, and much more.
Other than this, this watch is one of the fewest smartwatches that come with dual voice assistants. Fitbit Sense is also on my list of smartwatches that come with an inbuilt speaker and microphone. Therefore I could also use it to answer and make calls.
Moreover, this smartwatch supports NFC payments and comes loaded with Fitbit Pay allowing me to make contactless payments from the watch.
Fitbit Sense comes with a claimed battery life of 6 days but it easily lasted for 4 to 5 days on a single charge for me. I really liked its fast charging feature, with just 12 minutes of charge, this watch lasted for almost a day. This feature really becomes handy when you have to leave urgently but your smartwatch is not charged enough.
Overall, it is one of the best Fitbit smartwatches available in the market. If you want a Fitbit watch that is compatible with your Peloton bike or treadmill then Fitbit Sense is what you should choose.
2) Fitbit Charge 5
Fitbit Charge 5 is the best fitness tracker from Fitbit. Like Fitbit Sense, Charge 5 comes loaded with features.
It can also track 20 workout modes like the Sense. And you get almost all the features that you get on the Fitbit Sense including:
- 24*7 heart rate monitor
- SpO2 tracking
- Sleep tracking
- Menstrual cycle monitoring
- Daily readiness score
- Inbuilt GPS, and much more
This is also one of the fewest fitness trackers that can monitor ECG available in the market. As a result, you can keep track of your heart better.
Moreover, this fitness tracker comes with an AMOLED display and has an always-on mode. You can also pay using this fitness band as it supports NFC payments.
If you do not like big and bulky smartwatches and are looking for a sleek, stylish Fitbit band that works with Peloton then you will not get anything better than Fitbit Charge 5.
Fix: Fitbit Not Syncing With Peloton
If your Peloton is not able to sync your session data to your Fitbit account then the following methods will help you.
1) Reconnect
The first thing that you should do is disconnect both accounts and then connect them again. To unlink your accounts, you will have to use your Fitbit app. Open your Fitbit app and go to third-party apps management. From there, unlink the Peloton account.
Once disconnected, link your Fitbit and Peloton accounts again. This should solve your problem. And if in future you face this problem again then you can repeat the above steps.
2) Connect To A Similar Network
Sometimes, not connecting your Fitbit to the similar network that your Peloton bike or treadmill is connected to can also cause this problem. Try to connect both of your devices to the same network first and then try to sync data.
3) Contact Support
If none of the above methods work for you then the last option that is left for you is to contact the Peloton support team. Get in touch with them and let them know about the problem you are facing, and they will help you out.
