So let’s get started!

Quick Takeaway
Unlike other smartwatch manufacturers, Fitbit itself does not provide any feature to locate your smartwatch from the Fitbit app. However, there are third-party apps available in the market that you can use to locate your lost/stolen Fitbit.

Fitbit Stolen: Can I Track It?

Smartwatches have become a kind of necessity. People keep wearing them all day long to track their health and fitness levels. However, it is possible to lose it under a pile of clothes or somewhere else in your house like you lose the TV remote. It is also possible that you lose it outside of your house. Or someone can also steal your Fitbit smartwatch.

This is the reason that most smartwatch manufacturers provide a find my watch feature. Using this feature you can make your fitness tracker or watch ring and can easily find it if it is in the Bluetooth range.

However, if you own a Fitbit fitness or smartwatch then there is bad news for you. Fitbit hasn’t provided any such feature in their watches yet. The irony is that you get a find my phone feature on Fitbit smartwatches which you can use to find your cell phone but not the other way around. I think the find my watch feature is a must-have thing in a smartwatch and Fitbit should provide it in its fitness trackers.

But you don’t have to worry, every problem has a solution and I have found the solution to this problem for you. If you want to track your stolen or lost Fitbit then there is a walkaround. There are other apps available in the market that can help you find your lost or stolen Fitbit.

How To Find A Lost Fitbit?

Let us now look at the workaround that can help you get your Fitbit smartwatch or fitness tracker back. But before we start, let me tell you this way is guaranteed to work if your watch is in the Bluetooth range of your cell phone. If it is out of the Bluetooth range then this method may not work but is worth a try.

As discussed, Fitbit does not provide any feature to find your watch from its app. Therefore you will have to download a third-party app. My recommended app is Find My Fitbit which is available for Android and iOS devices. So you can download it from respective app stores.

Once downloaded it is pretty easy to use, all you have to do is launch the app and follow the onscreen steps.

It shows you three states namely cold, warmer, & hot. If you are far away from your watch then the status will be cold. As you start moving closer to your Fitbit then the status will turn warmer. And when you are only 3 to 5 feet away from your watch then the status will turn hot.

Once you see the status as hot then it means that you are very close to your Fitbit, just look around a little and you will find your watch.

This is how Find My Fitbit app can help you find your lost or stolen smartwatch. However, there are some drawbacks to this method:

  • You will not be able to find your Fitbit smartwatch or fitness tracker if it is not in the 100 ft range of your cell phone.
  • Secondly, it is a paid app therefore you will have to buy its plan if you want to find your Fitbit. However, the amount that they charge is really negligible compared to your watch.
  • If someone stole your Fitbit then it will be hard to find it using this app because you will not know where the thief took your watch.

What To Do If Someone Stole Your Fitbit?

In case someone steals your Fitbit, let me tell you what you should do.

1) Try Find My Fitbit

The first thing that you should do is obviously use the Find My Fitbit app and try to find your watch. Because initially, you will not know if you lost it or someone stole it. So use the app and go to the location that you visited recently, maybe you lost your watch there.

2) Complain To The Police

If you haven’t found your Fitbit using the Find My Fitbit app then you should go to the police and register a complaint. In case your Fitbit is really stolen then this will make sure that you remain safe if the thief uses your watch to harm someone. And if the police catch the thief then you will also get your watch back.

3) Reset Your Passwords

Lastly, you should reset all account passwords that are logged in to your Fitbit fitness tracker or smartwatch. This also includes any card details that you may have entered to pay wirelessly.
