So let’s start.

Quick Navigation

Garmin Watch That Answers Calls

Garmin is a go-to brand when it comes to watches that can accurately track your workouts. However, when it comes to offering features like calling, then it may not be as ahead as its competitors. You can find plenty of smartwatches that come with a calling function, but you will have a hard time if you want a Garmin watch that answers calls.

But if you are a fitness freak like me and want to own a Garmin watch only then I have done all the hard work for you. I have found out all the Garmin smartwatches that come with the calling feature.

Well, you do not have many options and there is only one Garmin watch in the market that can make and receive phone calls. And that smartwatch is Garmin Venu 2 Plus, yes not even the latest and flagship Garmin Fenix 7 comes with this feature.

Will you believe it if I tell you that Venu 2 Plus smartwatch was also launched recently?

Yes, it was launched on January 4, 2022. Looks like Garmin has finally listened to its users and has come out with its first watch that can make and answer calls. Hopefully, we will see more smartwatches from Garmin with this feature in the near future.

Note: Before we look in detail at the Garmin Venu 2 Plus, let me tell you that there are many websites and articles on the Internet that claim that Garmin Vivoactive 4 comes with a calling function. But it is not true and with Garmin Vivoactive 4 you will neither be able to make calls nor will you be able to answer them.

Garmin Venu 2 Plus

Let us now look at all the features that Garmin Venu 2 Plus offers.

Inbuilt Microphone And Speaker

First of all, it comes with an inbuilt microphone and speaker which enables you to make and answer calls. But remember that there is no LTE connectivity on this smartwatch. So in order to make or take calls, you will have to connect it to your smartphone.

And since we are talking about connecting it to a smartphone so let me tell you this Garmin smartwatch is compatible with iOS as well as Android devices. As a result, you will be able to use all of its features except replying to texts from the smartwatch if you own an iPhone.

You can also use its inbuilt microphone to send voice replies to text messages. And the other benefit of its built-in microphone is that you can use it to control the watch through a voice assistant. However, the thing that you need to keep in mind is that this watch does not come with a built-in voice assistant and makes use of your smartphone’s voice assistant. As a result, you will have to set up the voice assistant on your smartphone first.

Build Quality

This smartwatch’s case is made up of fiber-reinforced polymer and its watch bezel is made of stainless steel. It is not a smartwatch with the toughest build quality but since it is made to use in the urban jungle, hence it will be more than enough. And to protect its 1.3” AMOLED display from breaking and scratches, there is a protection of Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

Therefore, you don’t have to worry about its build quality if you plan to use it in your everyday life.

Battery Life

Garmin Venu 2 Plus comes with a claimed battery life of around 11 days in smartwatch mode. This can be further extended by using a battery saver mode. I am using Garmin Forerunner 245 Music for almost a year now and it has a claimed battery life of 7 days. It manages to give me around 6 days of battery life in smartwatch mode. So judging by this Garmin Venu 2 Plus should be able to last for around 9-10 days on a single charge.

Other Features

This watch comes with an inbuilt compass and barometric altimeter. Therefore, you will be able to take it on your next hiking trip.

The smartwatch has WiFi and ANT+ connectivity and this smartwatch also has an incident detection feature.
