What Is Red Snake Of Death On Apple Watch?
Before we look into fixing part of these snakes, let us first understand what they mean and why they appear. Let me first tell you about the red snake and then we will talk about the green snake of death.
The first thing that you should know is that it does not matter how dramatic these names sound but these are not official names given by Apple. Somebody gave them this name and it has really grown on other people as well. And in this article, I am also gonna tell you why they are called such.
The red snake of death on the Apple watch appears when your Apple Watch does not have any battery juice left. What happens to any electronic device when it does not have any battery charge left? It switches off, right?
The same is the case with your Apple Watch. When your Apple Watch will run out of battery, it will get switched off. And when you will try to turn it on without charging then you will see the red snake of death on your Apple Watch.
It just means that your Apple Watch does not have enough battery to get switched on and you should put it on charging. People apparently call it the red snake of death because it appears like a snake and the head of the snake contains a red lightning sign. Death is added after the red snake because it denotes the death of your battery life.
If you want to know how to fix it then keep reading, you will find the fix in the latter part of this article.
What Is Green Snake Of Death On Apple Watch?
Let us now see what the green snake of death on your Apple Watch means and why it is called such.
The green snake of death appears when you put your Apple Watch on charging after the red snake of death appears. It simply means that your Apple Watch does not have enough battery juice left to get switched on but is now charging.
I know what you must be thinking now if the watch is charging then shouldn’t the name of this snake be the green snake of life?
I thought of the same thing. But it is called the green snake of death because many people complain of it not going away even after charging their Apple Watch for a day. The Watch does not get switched on and just keeps on displaying the green snake. And if you cannot use your smartwatch then it is as good as dead, right? Hence, it has got the name: Green snake of death.
How To Fix Red Snake Of Death On Apple Watch?
Now that you know about the red snake of death and why it appears, let us see how you can fix it.
As discussed, when your Apple Watch does not have enough charge left to get switched on, the red snake appears. So to get rid of this red snake, all you have to do is put your Apple Watch on charge. Once you plug your Watch into charging, it will go away and will turn into a green snake.
How To Fix Green Snake Of Death On Apple Watch?
As I said earlier, the green snake appears when you put your Apple Watch on charge. So ideally, the green snake should disappear when you turn on your Watch after charging it for a few minutes. But the problem starts when it does not go away even after charging the watch for hours.
So how can you fix the green snake of death on your Apple Watch?
Well, I have researched a lot about this and there are only two methods that worked for me so far. Let us look at these methods one by one.
1) Soft Reset Your Apple Watch
The first and foremost thing that you should do is soft reset your Apple Watch. Restarting your Apple Watch will solve this problem most of the time.
To perform the force reset on your Apple Watch, all you have to do is press and hold the crown and the button below it simultaneously. Keep them pressed until you see the Apple logo on the Watch screen.
Once your Apple Watch restarts, the green snake will most probably disappear. But if it is still there, then follow the below method.
2) Let Your Apple Watch’s Battery Die
If you are not able to restart your Apple Watch or the green snake is not going anywhere even after restarting then the only option left is to let the Watch battery die on its own.
Apple Watches battery does not last long and I have always hated my Apple Watch for its battery but when I faced this green snake problem, then I realized the advantage of having a lower battery life. Because of its low battery life, I did not have to wait for several days to get its battery discharged on its own. If I would have a smartwatch with good battery life then probably I would have to wait for a month or so to let it get discharged.
Once your Apple Watch’s battery gets discharged, then all you have to do is charge it for a few hours and then switch it on. If restarting your Apple Watch does not solve the green snake of death problem then this method will definitely solve it.
If you want to know why this happens and how to prevent it from happening again then you should keep reading this article.
3) Take It To An Apple Watch Service Center
If none of the above methods work for you then you should take your Apple Watch to a service center. There is nothing that you will be able to do on your own anymore.
What To Do To Prevent Green Snake Of Death From Coming Back?
Before we look into the prevention method, let’s understand why this happens in the first place.
By now you must have understood that this is a battery-related issue, right? So it has something to do with the battery of your smartwatch. What I have noticed is that it happens when your Apple Watch battery is dead and the charger does not give it enough charge. This can happen if you charge your dead Apple Watch with your laptop, or the electricity voltage is low in your house, or it may be because the charger of the Apple Watch is not working properly. When this happens, the Apple Watch goes into a loop or something and gets stuck in that mode.
So to prevent it, always charge your Apple Watch with its original charger and plug it into a good voltage socket.
As we have come to the end of this article, let me give you some pro tips as well.
1) Always charge your Apple Watch before its battery percent goes to 0. You can not overcharge your Apple Watch, so do not be worried about charging it for long hours.
2) Switch on your watch after charging it for a few minutes once the green snake appears. If you are not able to switch it on then take it out of charging and let it die on its own. This way, you will not have to wait for more than a couple of hours. Because you did not let the battery get charged more. The more the charge is left on the battery, the more time the smartwatch will take to get discharged on its own.
