Best Smartwatches With Wireless Or Qi Charging
1) HUAWEI Watch GT 3 Pro
The first smartwatch with wireless charging that I have for you is the HUAWEI Watch GT 3 Pro. I found this smartwatch from HUAWEI to be the most premium and gorgeous-looking smartwatch on this list of wireless charging watches. This smartwatch is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. Therefore I was able to pair it with my iPhone 11 as well as Samsung Galaxy S9+ without a hiccup.
The thing that I liked about this smartwatch with wireless charging is that, unlike other watches, this smartwatch comes with a charging cradle out of the box. Therefore, I did not have to spend any more money to buy a wireless charger for it. This smartwatch also supports Qi wireless charging standards. As a result, I could also charge it from a Qi wireless charging pad that I already had.
As far as its battery life goes, HUAWEI claims that it can last for 14 days on a single charge. And during my usage, it easily lasted for 12 to 13 days. This smartwatch also comes with fast charging support and it usually takes around an hour and a half to charge from 0 to 100%.
When I wear this smartwatch, it gives me a feeling that I am wearing a luxury watch. And when I set an analog watch face then none of my friends believe that it is a smartwatch and not a traditional watch. Therefore, I wear this to my office daily and it also goes well with my dresses.
I also have no complaints about its build quality. As it comes with a titanium body and is also one of the fewest smartwatches with sapphire glass. Therefore, if you like then you can also use this watch for hiking as it is a rough & tough wireless charging smartwatch.
Other than these, you get almost all the features, fitness, and health trackers on this watch. These include an activity tracker, heart rate monitor, sleep monitor, SpO2 monitor, & other tracking features found on other smartwatches.
If you like the look and feel of traditional watches but also like to have modern features then you will not get any better watch than this. It has got almost everything that could ask from a smartwatch with Qi charging.
2) Samsung Galaxy Watch 4
The next wireless charging smartwatch on my list is none other than Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. Galaxy Watch is a critically acclaimed wireless charging smartwatch series loved and adored by many technophiles
Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 is a stunning and lovely-looking smartwatch, which is truly worthy of all the praise it gets. Let me tell you why.
It is the first Samsung smartwatch that is powered by Google’s Wear OS, therefore it is not like its predecessors. And unlike its immediate predecessor Galaxy Watch 3, this smartwatch is not compatible with Qi wireless chargers, therefore it did not get charged when I placed it on my Qi-enabled wireless charger.
This smartwatch instead supports a different proprietary wireless charging tech. So technically you can buy & use Samsung wireless charger and use it with Samsung Galaxy Watch 4. However, Qi wireless chargers are incompatible with this watch.
Also, if you are using the flagship Samsung S23 Ultra then you can use Samsung wireless power-sharing feature to charge the Watch 4 with your phone wirelessly.
Wireless charging provides a hassle-free experience, just place your watch on your wireless charging pad and it will charge your watch. It is an intuitive and convenient way of charging your smartwatch, especially when you have to charge your watch every day. Since Watch 4 does not offer a very great battery life therefore you will really appreciate the wireless charging feature. During my usage, Galaxy Watch 4 gave me a maximum battery life of one and a half days.
You can check out my battery-saving video below to know how I extracted more battery life out of it.
Furthermore, the watch also comes with ECG, stress, SpO2, and heart rate monitoring. This helps you keep an eye on your health and monitor your stress levels. Several studies have shown that stress can lead to depression, heart disease, obesity, and several other health conditions. That’s why, I found the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 useful as it helped me in leading a healthy lifestyle.
However, the thing that I have noticed while using this smartwatch is that its ECG and blood oxygen monitoring option is only available on Samsung devices. So if you own a non-Samsung smartphone then these features won’t be available to you.
Moreover, the exercise list of the Galaxy Watch 4 is a very long one and it also has automatic activity detection for 7 activities.
As a result, I didn’t have to manually select an activity, the watch automatically started recording my sessions so that I could focus on my workout. This smart watch with wireless charging can automatically detect running, cycling, swimming, Elliptical trainer, walking, dynamic workout, and rowing machine.
I loved the fact that this smartwatch supports NFC which allowed me to make payments using the watch. This will allow you to leave your wallet & smartphone at home too.
It is also worth pointing out that with Galaxy Watch 4 you can also receive and make phone calls since this smartwatch has a built-in mic and speaker.
I have also made a call test video discussing the call & speaker performance of the Galaxy Watch 4 on my channel Wearholic. I will leave the video below so you can check the performance yourself.
Overall it is a good smartwatch that comes loaded with features. And if you own an Android smartphone then this is one of the best smartwatches with wireless charging for you. You can watch my Galaxy Watch 4 review video below which I shared after using it for more than a month.
3) Apple Watch Series 8
There is a reason why Apple is the market leader when it comes to smartwatches. Apple Watch Series with its curved display and eye-catching design is one of the best-looking smartwatches. This smart watch with wireless charging is the go-to choice when it comes to smartwatches. Simply because it offers lots of features and best-in-class performance.
While Apple Watch Series 8 does not support Qi wireless charging but it does come with Apple’s proprietary wireless magnetic charging.
Apple Watch uses a magnetic charger, just like you would place any device on a wireless charging pad, you would do the same with Apple magnetic charger. So all I had to do was place my Apple Watch on the wireless magnetic charger and it started charging my Watch.
However, forget about the wireless charger, the Apple Watch Series 8 does not even come with a charging brick. Therefore I had to buy a new wireless Apple Watch charger to charge it wirelessly.
When it comes to health and wellness this wireless charging watch offers unmatched performance. I could take my ECG anytime I wanted and also could monitor my blood oxygen level. It also periodically captured my blood oxygen levels when I was resting or sleeping. As a result, I always had the right and plenty of information to monitor my health.
Most watches have poor visibility under direct sunlight but not this one. This watch features an OLED Retina display that lights up to 1000 nits making it one of the brightest displays. Therefore I did not face any difficulty reading time or text messages even on a bright sunny day. Furthermore, the watch also has an always-on altimeter so if you are someone who goes trekking, hiking, or skiing then it would tell you about your current elevation levels as well.
Since it is an Apple Watch so it comes with the App Store. There are thousands of apps and games available on the App Store. Hence I could install apps like Headspace for meditation, Strava for fitness, NOAA Radar app for weather forecasts, and many more.
Watch OS is so well optimized that on a single charge, Watch 8 easily lasted a day during my usage. I could use Siri, make and receive calls, sync notifications, and do much more.
Apple Watch Series 8 is definitely one of the best smartwatches with wireless charging and I have no doubt that it would meet all your expectations. The only drawback that I could find with this watch was the lack of support for Android devices.
4) Apple Watch SE 2
Like Apple Watch Series 8, Apple Watch SE 2 is another smartwatch that supports wireless charging. However, this Apple Watch also does not support Qi wireless charging so you cannot charge it from any wireless charger other than Apple’s. Therefore even if you own a Qi wireless charger, you will have to purchase a new Apple wireless charger for this watch.
This wireless charging smartwatch comes with not-so-great battery life like Apple Watch Series 8. As a result, you can only expect it to last just for a day on a charge.
You get almost all the features in it that you get in Apple Watch Series 8. But since it is supposed to be a cheaper option for Apple Watch Series watches therefore you also do not get some features that you get in Apple Watch Series 8. The missing features include a SpO2 monitor, ECG monitor, etc.
If you own an Apple smartphone and are looking for an affordable Apple watch with wireless charging then this is the only option for you.
5) Samsung Galaxy Watch 5
Here is the perfect smartwatch for users who lead an active lifestyle. Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 will be your perfect fitness companion. This extremely gorgeous-looking smartwatch is made for all the fitness enthusiasts out there, don’t worry it is not on the list just because of its good looks.
You can know what it offers by watching my long-term review video of Galaxy Watch 5 below. I have listed all the pros and cons of the watch after using it for more than a year.
The AMOLED screen on Galaxy Watch 5 offers one of the best vibrant displays available on watches with wireless charging. Moreover, it also has an always-on display, so I didn’t have to turn on the watch using buttons or hand gestures throughout my day.
Like Samsung Galaxy Watch 4, the Watch 5 too comes with the same wireless charging standard. You will not be able to use 3rd party wireless Qi charging pads as it doesn’t use the Qi wireless charging standard. If you can look past that then it might be the best Samsung smartwatch with wireless charging functionality.
Wireless charging is not the only thing going on for this watch. It also has the ability to ECG on demand and measure your blood pressure & heart rate. The watch also alerted me when my heart rate became too high or low. One thing that I didn’t like is the fact that ECG & BP monitoring works only on Samsung Galaxy phones.
With the help of this watch, you can monitor and track your sleep as well. It also offers you tips so that you can improve your sleep and feel refreshed the next day.
The watch comes with Bixby AI that can help you make a call, reply to a text, or get weather updates just by using your voice.
This watch also comes with Samsung Pay. With Samsung Pay, you don’t need to carry your debit or credit cards all the time with you as it enables you to make contactless payments using your watch at any NFC-enabled payment terminal. So next time you are in Starbucks you can just use your smartwatch to make a payment. Given the ongoing pandemic, it is a very nifty but important feature to have as the entire payment process is contactless.
Using the Samsung Health app you can sync data between your smartphone and this wireless charging smartwatch so you can keep a detailed track of daily fitness activities such as workout duration, hourly movements, step tracking, activity duration, and much more.
Samsung Health app is available for both Android and iOS devices so you don’t need to worry about compatibility with your device.
6) Fossil Gen 6
Fossil is a well-known watch brand that needs no introduction. They make some really sleek and gorgeous-looking smartwatches and this wireless charging watch is one of them. Not only the watch is good-looking but also performs exceptionally well in day-to-day usage.
Fossil Gen 6 also comes with wireless magnetic charging. I was only able to charge this wireless charging smartwatch using the proprietary charger provided in the box.
The charging process is pretty simple just place your watch on the magnetic charger, and it gets attached to the backside of the smartwatch and starts charging.
The difference between Qi wireless charger and a magnetic charger is that a magnetic charger, despite being a wireless charger works only with a proprietary cable, and will only work with your watch. On the other hand, Qi charger follows set universal standards which makes them compatible with other smartwatches or smartphones as well.
Magnetic charging might not be as convenient as Qi wireless charging, but this smartwatch does have a fast charging feature so you can charge your smartwatch’s battery up to 80 percent within an hour.
Fossil Gen 6 also has an inbuilt speaker and mic. So next time you will be in your backyard and notice an important call on your screen, you won’t need to run a marathon to pick up the call on your phone, you can just use your smartwatch.
This smartwatch supports Google Pay. So, the next time when you are in Target or Walgreens, just use your smartwatch to make payments. And, you can also use Google Assistant to set alarms, reminders, get weather updates, play music, and much more without touching your smartphone.
There is something relaxing about early morning runs if you leave your smartphone behind. Thankfully, I was able to go for run, cycling, or jog with this wireless charing smarwatch as it comes with built-in GPS.
This watch also comes with 8GB of onboard storage and 1 GB of RAM. Therefore, you can install games, apps and multitask with ease using this watch. Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100 processor ensures a lag-free experience.
The battery life of this Fossil Wear OS wireless charging smartwatch is average. A single charge will last you 1 day on a single charge if you are a heavy user. On light usage, it will last you 1 ½ days.
Overall it is a great smartwatch by Fossil with wireless charging support and could have easily been one of the best smartwatches if it weren’t for its average battery.
7) Google Pixel Watch
If Fossil Gen 6 is too bling for you then allow me to present to you a Google Pixel Watch. This smartwatch has a clean & minimalistic-looking design that gives the watch sleek & premium-looking aesthetics. Pixel watch’s round & curved screen gives the watch a premium-looking aesthetics.
Since this is made by Google, you might think that this is the best Wear OS smartwatch that supports Qi wireless charging. However, most Wear OS watches come with proprietary wireless magnetic charging & Pixel comes with it too.
So if you want to use a wireless charging dock, or have purchased any separate wireless charging accessories then it won’t work on Google Pixel. You can only use the magnetic wireless charger provided with the smartwatch. Unlike Wear OS from Samsung, this watch can’t be charged using a phone either.
Pixel Watch comes with 32 GB of storage & 2GB of RAM so in terms of storage this is the best Wear OS wireless charging watch. You will be able to install various apps & run them smoothly on this smartwatch.
While using the watch I never had to worry about the water damage as well as it was water resistant up to 50m underwater. I also loved the AMOLED screen that can do the peak brightness of 1000nits. For the protection of the screen, Google has provided Gorilla Glass 5 & hasn’t cheaped out on it which many brands tend to do.
To get the best out of this smartwatch you need to install the Google Pixel Watch app. Using this app you can keep track of your steps, calories, and heart rate on your wireless charging smartwatch.
Things To Consider Before Buying A Wireless Charging Watch
1. Wireless Charging Technology
There are two types of wireless charging available, Qi and Magnetic wireless charging. Some companies use Qi wireless charging whereas some use magnetic chargers. Smartwatches that come with magnetic charging don’t support any third-party chargers, whereas smartwatches with Qi wireless charging are compatible with most third-party wireless chargers.
2. Features
After deciding which wireless charging is suitable for you, then look for what are all the must-have features for you. If you want your smartwatch to be able to take ECG then go with Apple or Samsung smartwatch. While if you want it to work just as a productivity-focused smartwatch then going with HUAWEI Watch GT 3 Pro might be your best bet.
3. Battery Life
It is important that the smartwatch you choose should be able to get you through your day, right? I mean what’s the point of getting an expensive watch if it can’t last even a day? Make sure you choose a smartwatch that has reliable and dependable battery life.
