This rugged timepiece from the Casio G Shock is something that you must get your hands on. The watch weighs 3.2 ounces and the dial is 56.2 mm wide which makes it one of the biggest watches on my list.
It comes with a black mineral glass dial that has black, tan, and white accents. The large numerals at 12 o’clock, 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock, and 9 o’clock increase the readability. Moreover, I also loved the resin band whose texture makes it look like a cloth band. While wearing the watch it felt stylish & went along with all my clothes.
Talking about durability, the watch is shock-resistant and has a water-resistant rating of 200m. There are multiple gaskets used on the watch that keeps the dirt out & makes the watch dirt resistant as well. So this watch with a temperature sensor easily survived when I was tackled in the mud while playing football.
Now, let me tell you about the twin sensors available on this watch with the thermometer. One is the digital compass and the other is obviously the temperature sensor.
The digital compass didn’t let me get off the track, no matter how harsh the circumstances were. Similarly, the button at the 4 o’clock position activates the temperature ambient sensor on the watch.
Similarly, the thermometer sensor can track the temperature ranging from -10 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius. It is equivalent to 14 degrees Fahrenheit to 140 degrees Fahrenheit.
With the help of the thermometer, I was able to track the changing weather conditions on my outdoor trip.
Furthermore, the watch is powered by 2 SR927 W batteries which have a life span of approximately two years. So, I didn’t have to be worried about the battery life. The best part is that this smartwatch’s ambient temperature sensor has a low battery alert. Hence, you will come to know beforehand when you need to purchase a new battery.
This watch also has an LED backlight that increases the dial visibility along with the Neo-Brite luminous hands and markers. You might be wondering what exactly is Neo-Brite. Well, it means that luminous hands & markers have paint on them that makes them glow in the dark. Neo Brite paint allows the glowing effect to last long after the watch is exposed to a bit of light.
Moreover, I found that this timepiece comes with 31 time zones, which means it shows the time of 48 cities +UTC. It’s important to note that the UTC is not considered a time zone; instead, it is simply a Universal Time Standard. The watch also has daylight saving time.
In addition to that, the watch features a 1/100 stopwatch, a countdown timer, and five daily alarms. The full-auto calendar can keep track of the time till 2099 so you are set for 70+ years. The watch flexes a day and date display and an hourly time signal, which means you will hear a beep sound after the completion of every hour. However, there is an option for turning this feature on and off.
So many features in one watch; isn’t it great? I can assure you that this is the best Casio G-Shock Quartz watch with a temperature sensor that has all the capabilities to be your perfect partner if you go camping or on any other outdoor adventure trip.

The second thermometer watch on my list is also from Casio. If you go out on trek more frequently then this is the perfect watch for hiking.
Most Casio watches only come with a handful of features but this Casio Protrek thermometer watch comes with many. It would fulfill most if not all your requirements for an outdoor watch.
For instance, the watch comes with a triple sensor- a digital compass, thermometer, & altimeter/barometer. If your priority is checking the temperature then the display will help you track on-screen readings.
Using this watch with a temperature sensor was a little difficult at first but once I got used to the watch it was fairly easy to use. This digital watch’s temperature sensor detection range is from -10 degrees Celsius to 60 degrees Celsius which can also be changed into Fahrenheit if required.
Whenever the temperature mode is selected, it will take a reading every 5 seconds for the first three minutes and then every 2 minutes after that. In addition to that, it is a solar-powered watch which means you can charge the watch using sunlight. Just expose the watch to light and it will never stop running on long trips.
Moreover, it has basic features such as a 1/100 stopwatch, a countdown timer, a day and date window, and five daily alarms. The watch also has 30 time zones. Casio ProTrek is also equipped with a neon illuminator which makes time visibility easier during night-time outdoor activities.
Moving on, I also found the Casio Pro Trek to have a pretty good design which makes it comfortable watch to wear. This thermometer watch comes with a soft, durable silicone band that makes it comfortable enough to be worn for hours. And, the 100m water resistance enables the watch to withstand water splashes with ease.
3. Timex Intelligent Quartz Watch
The third watch on my list is from Timex which provides plenty of features that too at under $200.
What makes the watch unique is the temperature sensor, digital compass, and tide indicator. The watch’s temperature sensor can be enabled by pressing the button at the 2 o’clock position. The sensor can pretty accurately tell the air and water temperature if not worn on your wrist. Hence, you need to take it out from your wrist and keep it aside for at least 15-20 minutes to know the correct ambient temperature.
The button at 4 o’clock enables the tide indicator. If the red arrow directs towards 12 o’clock then it means that the tide is high. Depending on the tide, the hand will switch its position between the high and low tide. So while this might not be a great watch with in-depth tide details but still it is a pretty good watch for surfers.
The button at the 8 o’clock position is to enable the compass. When you press the button, you will see the red hand points towards North for some time. Also, you have to make sure the compass is calibrated before using the watch.
Furthermore, the timepiece also comes with an INDIGLO Night- light; pressing the crown illuminates the entire display. On top of that, you can find a date window at the 6 o’clock position. In addition, it has a 100m water resistance, which means it can withstand swimming, snorkeling, and other basic water activities.
Honestly, I would suggest you not think twice & buy this watch with a temperature sensor. Besides the temperature sensor, it has many other features making it a great option at a budget-friendly price.

The Garmin Fenix 7 flaunts a hell of a lot of features that might be mesmerizing for outdoor enthusiasts. These features include highly accurate navigation, temperature sensor, and several more beneficial sensors that you could ever use. In my opinion, you would not need to purchase any other watch if you have Garmin Fenix 7 smartwatch with a thermometer.
This 79-gram sturdy and sophisticated smartwatch comes with sapphire glass along with a rugged stainless steel case that makes it scratch-resistant. The silicone wristband can be easily detached if you want to change the strap. There are a lot of strap variants available, including nylon, leather, titanium, and so on.
This smartwatch with ambient temperature sensor can be used independently with five buttons or a touch screen. On the left side, there are three buttons – light, up/menu, and down. Using the buttons you will be able to navigate between the options without using the touchscreen. This also makes this smartwatch perfect for skiing, surfing, & other outdoor activities. As I usually have to wear gloves or other gear while playing sports which makes the touchscreen difficult to use.
From the home page, you can go to another menu by pressing the down button. Here, as you scroll down, you will come across respiration tracking, ambient temperature sensor, and many more tracking features. Remember to remove the watch from your wrist 15-20 minutes before as it might not tell you the accurate temperature of the surroundings if you wear it on your wrist.

The next timepiece with a thermometer is from Casio’s G-Shock series, and most G Shock-like models, it is also worth the money.
As apparent by the name, it is mud-resistant. So, I didn’t have to worry whenever I was playing outdoors or on a hike with my squad. Also, this affordable watch has solar charging which ensured the stable working of the various power-hungry features like a stopwatch, countdown timer, etc.
I liked the one-touch button on the watch that enables the compass and ambient temperature sensor. Also, this digital watch with a temperature sensor has a moon graph which means the watch will indicate the current moon phase in the aperture of the dial. Hence, you will get an indication of the tide status. It is not a full-fledged tide watch for boating but it can still be helpful when you are out fishing or boating.
Additionally, this thermometer watch comes with 12/24 hour formats, so you can read the military time on the watch. The timepiece also has a full auto EL light with afterglow making it easily readable in low light or dark. Its shock and water resistance build quality keeps it well protected as well.

In my opinion, the best part about this timepiece from Casio is its compatibility with Android and iOS. You will have to link the Pro Trek connected app to the smartphone through Bluetooth and access all the features required for your outdoor adventures. It comes with a quad sensor (barometric/altitude, digital compass, and thermometer). In addition to that, this watch with a temperature sensor also has an accelerometer for step counting.
The watch comes in a black color tone neutralized by an orange-colored second hand and a North direction indicator on the top of the rotating bezel. The large numbers enhance the readability and the arrow watch hands enhance the overall appearance of the watch.
It features scratch-resistant mineral glass that protected the glass from getting damaged during my usage. The watch also has a low-temperature resistance of up to 10 degrees Celsius/ 14 degrees Fahrenheit, allowing the LCD to withstand the cold and prevent the display from getting fadeout.
The double LED light enhances the readability in a low-light area. Its 100m water resistance allowed me to go swimming and perform similar water activities. Furthermore, the compass bezel can help you find the correct direction if you are on your adventure trip and don’t know which path to take. Don’t fret; this watch has got you covered.
Lay the watch horizontally and align the hour hand to the direction of the sun. Now, make sure that you know currently in which hemisphere you are in. If you are in the Northern Hemisphere, the midpoint between the hour hand and 12 o’clock will approximately indicate South. This will then enable you to read the other directions easily. This wristwatch with temperature display is powered by a Quartz movement. It also features the date and day on display. There is also a backlight function that can be turned on by pressing the top button on the left.
It also has all the useful features, including a stopwatch, a countdown timer, a 12/24 hour display, and the ability to set two alarms. It also has a pedometer that helped me record my walking speed and track the steps taken.
Furthermore, SKMEI comes with a digital compass that helped me find the correct direction. The compass can be enabled by pressing the center button on the right side of the watch. This digital watch with temperature sensor was very useful to wear during my outdoor adventures.
The down button on the right enables the altimeter. It helps you to calculate the height from the ground level while you are on your hiking trip. The altimeter also keeps a record of 24 hours with the altitude graph.
In addition, the watch also features a Barometer that helps in tracking the air pressure. It helped in tracking atmospheric pressure changes & anticipate weather status.

Kindly check if both of the temperature units are available in the watch. Of course, the latest watch models come with both units. However, there is no harm if you double-check this before selecting a watch.
3. Dual Sensor vs Triple Sensor
Most of the watches come with either a dual-sensor or a triple sensor. Well, what does that mean?
A dual-sensor means that the watch includes a compass and a thermometer. If the watch comes with a triple sensor, it means the timepiece has the above two sensors and a barometer/ altimeter.
