It’s no surprise to find that people like being praised and awarded for their efforts because it inspires them to work even harder next time. This is exactly what keeps them going when going gets tough, especially when it comes to their daily fitness activities.

And wearable technology devices like Garmin smartwatches and trackers can provide you with constant inspiration with features like Garmin Badges. Garmin awards Garmin badges to its users to encourage healthy activities just like Fitbit badges available on Fitbit smartwatches and trackers.

Activities could be as easy as getting an 8-hour rest to as difficult as 100 miles run in a single activity. But most Garmin users don’t know or want to know more about Garmin badges.

Hence keeping that in mind, we have written this comprehensive Garmin badges guide to explain in detail what are Garmin badges, how you can earn Garmin badges, where you can find your Garmin badges, the Garmin badges list, and a troubleshooting guide if you are not being awarded for your fitness activities.

What Are Garmin Badges And How You Can Earn Them?

What are Garmin badges

Garmin smartwatches are the perfect partner for all the fitness freaks out there. But still, we might find ourselves looking for motivation on some days or likewise just an excuse to start with our new year fitness resolution. This is exactly what Garmin badges do by rewarding you for almost all of your activities.

There are several types of Garmin badges awarded for different activities like yoga, daily steps, cycling, running, floor climbing, and a lot more. These activities can be as easy as 5 walking activities in a day to as difficult as 100 miles run in a single activity.

Hence, you can be a total beginner or a Gym freak, Garmin will ensure that your efforts don’t go unnoticed. Using the Garmin Connect app you can even compete against your friends and family and have fun while grinding.

What Are Badge Points And Levels In Garmin Watches?

When you purchase a new Garmin watch you start as a level one user, to level up you need to earn Garmin badges.

All Garmin badges have some points assigned to them which range from 1 to 8. How many points a badge would carry depends on the difficulty of the task. To level up your profile quickly you need to score more points and you can do that by performing difficult tasks first.

For instance, the Climber 1 badge is awarded after 500 feet of mountain biking which rewards users with only 1 point whereas the Insanity badge awarded after a 100-mile run will award you with 8 points.

What Types Of Garmin Badges Are There?

Not all Garmin badges are the same. There are basically three types of Garmin badges available to everyone.

1. One-time Garmin Badges

One-time badge activities are mostly either easy or a little difficult to do. These badges can only be earned once and award users with the least number of badge points after completing the activity.

For example, the Milestone badge which is rewarded after a 1-mile run is fairly easy for beginners and awards users with only 1 point.

2. Repeatable Garmin Badges

The second type of badges is Repeatable badges, you can earn these badges daily over and over again. Consequently, it is a little difficult to earn these badges and cannot be earned by a beginner.

For instance, the 50-mile Ultra badge is awarded to users when they complete 50 miles run in a single activity and this badge can be earned again and again.

3. Limited-time Garmin Badges

Limited time badges can be easy as well as difficult to earn but they can only be awarded if a user completes the activity within the given period of time.

For example, the Halloween activity badge can only be earned if you perform an activity on the day of Halloween.
